Connection. Safety. Belonging.

Hopeful Mind Psychology comes from the belief that we need a little bit of hope in our life, despite what we have been through and the situation we are in.

Hope will lead us to make behavioural changes and build our capacity to make meaningful lives.

Welcome!

My name is Fina Triany.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a member of the Australian Psychological Association (APS) and EMDRAA (EMDR Association of Australia). My experience across multiple settings (e.g. schools, psychiatric hospital, community centres, and private practices) in Indonesia and Australia has given me a breadth of knowledge about mental health issues. I currently focus on supporting people aged 16 and above.

Due to my cultural background, I seek to understand cultural differences and work sensitively around different cultures. In addition to English, I speak Bahasa Indonesia.

  • Addiction issues

  • Legal issues. I do not write any legal reports, letters, or documentations.

  • EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. The basic model of EMDR Therapy believes that our brain has the capacity to heal from psychological trauma. When the brain is given the opportunity to heal, this will reduce the emotional distress as the brain will learn to move on from the past and to improve life.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) was designed to be broadly applicable to a range of life difficulties. The therapy focuses on building psychological flexibility: the ability to choose behaviour according to client’s values. ACT has major emphasis on values, forgiveness, acceptance, compassion, living in the present moment, and accessing a transcendent sense of self.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a well-known psychological approach that helps to modify unhelpful ways of thinking. Learning to recognise patterns of unhelpful behavior, and learning better ways of coping. This can result in symptom relief and becoming more effective in life.
