Frequently asked questions

Do I have to get a referral from my GP?

You do not have to get a referral from your GP but you will have to pay the full fee. A referral from your GP is called a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), which allows you to get a rebate of $137.05 per session. Under the MHTP, you can be eligible for 10 sessions per calendar year.

How long is a session and how many sessions do I need?

One session is approximately 50 minutes. The numbers of sessions you need would depend on so many factors. It is the most asked question and the hardest one to answer! Let’s discuss this further in sessions.

What to expect in the first session?

Just come to your first session. The first step is the hardest. If you can be there, that means you’ve done the hard bit. In the first session, we usually explore where you are, where you want to go and we will discuss the best way to support you. Sounds good?

After hours appointments?

Yes, we offer after hours appointment (5pm and 6pm on Thursdays) and Saturday appointments. Contact us to find out more!

How do you process payments and the medicare rebate?

When you make your first booking, you will get an intake form to fill out your personal details, along with your credit card and bank details. The full payment is processed during the session and the Medicare rebate is processed automatically after the payment is done. The medicare rebate will be credited to your bank account within 2-3 business days.

What's your cancellation policy?

Sometimes things get in the way. Completely understandable. Please let us know at least 48 hours before your session or a cancellation fee will apply. The 48 hours will give us enough time to offer the time to others who are on the waitlist. No-shows mean you will have to pay full-fee, without any Medicare Rebate or Private Health rebate. Let’s respect each other’s time.

Still have questions or feeling unsure about things?

It never hurts to ask questions. Please get in touch and we will get back to you within 24-48 hours.

How about disability access?

Our office is located in the first floor and there are stairs to go up to the office. Unfortunately, there is no disability access, or wheelchair access to the office. Please contact us for further information.
